Short-Term Running Goals:

I have a half coming up in august in Provo that I talked my wife into trying, and I just started training again for the St George marathon.

Long-Term Running Goals:

Of course I would some day love to qualify for Boston.

Personal:

When I started running, which was back in Feb. of 2007, I weighed 110 lbs. more than I do now.  Although I do not run as fast as I would like, I feel like as long as I continue to progress, I can make it to my goals. I have found that running has been essential to keeping the weight off for me.  When I start to take it easy after a race is over, that is when the pounds can creep back on!

Today has felt the best so far this week.  I was able to get back up to the speed I was running before the half marathon.  By the time my hour was up on the treadmill, my foot ( PF) hurt a little, but nothing like it was two weeks ago.

Although this may look like a race, it is acctually just a regular run.  I didn't have a particular distance in mind when I set out from my house this morning, and I ended up running all over St George by the time I was done.  I guess you could say it was my impersonation of a "Forrest Gump" morning.  Anyway, when I got about 1 1/2 blocks away from my wife's work I had hit 13.1 miles, so I thought I would just walk the last little bit.  It felt good to get out and run a longer distance, and although my legs are tired and sore, it is a good tired. :)

Today felt pretty good.  I think I could have gone a little faster, but that just means I will be able to push that much harder next time.

Just another run during my break at work, so of course it was on the treadmill.  I was silly and thought that I would be able to jog and read a book at the same time.  Yeah...that was a dumb idea.  It only made me dizzy to try to focus on the page while I was bouncing around!

I couldn't drag myself out of bed this morning before work, so all I could do was 3 miles on my break today.  I have been fighting off a cold, so I guess some running is better than just not going.

My back was killing me when I got up this morning.  I think I slept funny last night or something.  The strange thing is that while I was running is when it hurt the least.  Other than that, it was a pretty good run.

Today was a pretty good run.  I was supposed to do a speed workout this morning with the St George Running Club, but it was decided that it was too cold!  I guess I should just be grateful that I don't live up north!!!

I was able to push a little harder today, but it felt good.  I haven't really felt any pain from the PF that I had a few weeks ago, so that makes me happy.  So far it has been a good week!

Although I did not run with as much intensity, today makes six days in a row that I have run, which makes me pretty happy.  I think it has been a good week.

Today was a cold one.  In fact, I would have liked to have run more, but it was too cold.  On the bright side, I ran really fast to get home faster!

I think that I will take it easy this week compared to last week.  I still want to try to get 6 days in this week, but I will not focus as hard on mileage.

I was able to squeeze out 40 minutes during my break today at work.  I didn't push as hard as I could have, but I am glad that I was able to do something today.

While visiting family in North Salt Lake, I decided it would be a good idea to go for an outside run.  What a silly fool I was!!!  I was running with my sister-in-law today, so she couldn't go very far, which was fine with me because it was bitterly cold.  I figure 3 miles in weather like that should be woth 5 or 6 miles inside for sure!
