I have a half coming up in august in Provo that I talked my wife into trying, and I just started training again for the St George marathon.
Long-Term Running Goals:
Of course I would some day love to qualify for Boston.
Personal:
When I started running, which was back in Feb. of 2007, I weighed 110 lbs. more than I do now. Although I do not run as fast as I would like, I feel like as long as I continue to progress, I can make it to my goals. I have found that running has been essential to keeping the weight off for me. When I start to take it easy after a race is over, that is when the pounds can creep back on!
I was able to get up and go running with the local group this morning. I am still taking it slow and steady, which is frustrating, but at the same time I know it is the smart way to go. So far so good this week...
I got up before my 11 hour shift for the second Saturday in a row! I can see it getting easier little by little to go farther in the same amount of time. I just want my shins to get back into shape...
Today I was just glad to have made it to the gym. I got up late and had to do some honeydo's. The run really took it out of me, but I was able to squeak a little more distance out of the 60 minutes than I did Saturday...
